Raising funds to support the Little Miracles charity
Doctify is racing around the world in support of the Little Miracles charity
At Doctify, we are building a global healthcare review platform. Our network helps those with rare conditions to find the help that they need no matter where in the world they are.
Inspired by our colleague Paul, whose son Oliver suffers from a rare and complicated condition, we decided to come together and race around the world to raise funds to support the Little Miracles charity.
We will be running, walking and cycling, measuring every kilometre on the Strava app as we digitally travel from one country to the next.

We had to face many difficult decisions about life and death with regards to Oliver. All we wanted was to talk to specialists who could help us make the right decisions. I joined Doctify to make a difference and I am so excited that we have all come together to race around the world.

Little Miracles
Little Miracles is a charity supporting families that have children with additional needs, disabilities and life-limiting conditions.
Just like everyone else, these children need a place to play, laugh and create friendships. Little Miracles provides them with this while also giving their families a place to access the advice, support and care that they deserve.
With the funds raised through Doctify’s Race Around the World, Little Miracles will be able to fund a family support worker. This person will give front-line support to families, providing them with access to financial planning and advice, food parcel deliveries and referrals to counselling and child support teams. The family support worker will also manage a team of trained volunteers, helping 1,500 families a month.

How we are racing around the world
We’re cycling
We’re walking
We’re running
Alex Diehl – our Sales Manager at Doctify Germany – is a top contributor to our Race Around the World. He has been spending his evenings and weekends cycling around beautiful Bavaria.
What got you into cycling?
I started cycling five years ago when a severe knee injury made playing football impossible. I had never considered biking an exciting sport, but everything changed when I started and invested in a gravel bike. It’s been wonderful discovering new places in Bavaria and seeing how riding a bike can improve your condition and strength.
How does cycling make you feel?
We have beautiful, pre-alpine landscapes here in Bavaria with many lakes, rivers, and forests. Biking in such a breathtaking environment makes you forget about your daily stress.
How do you balance cycling with being a superstar at work?
I usually go biking during the weekends. I load my bike in the car and drive to sub-urban areas to start my route there. During the week, it all depends on the part of the year. It’s challenging to bike during winter because it gets dark quickly, but I try to bike before or after work in the summer.
Annette Benigni – our SDR Team Leader at Doctify Germany – loves spending her free time outdoors. It’s not surprising that she’s one of the top contributors to our Race around the World.
What motivates you to keep going with the Race around the World challenge?
I have always been an outdoor person who enjoys sports. I love the fresh air and seeing different environments, which I can easily explore while walking or jogging.
Ever since we decided to add a new member to our family, our lovely dog Harvey, I have been walking more often. With charity events like Race around the World, every mile count. I am proud to contribute by adding my steps in, even if it’s just from walking with my dog.
How do you fit this into your daily routine?
On the days that I work from home, I go for a long walk after 5.30 pm. I’m also walking our dog in between, so that’s always more steps and miles! When the weekend comes and I have more time, I enjoy planning longer journeys and exploring new places.
Has there been anything that you have found challenging?
I feel the most challenged when the weather is not great. When it’s cold and rainy, I really have to push myself to go for a walk. But I know that I’m always feeling energised and healthy after working out, so that keeps me going.
Thanks to the Race around the World challenge, our Strategic Partnership Lead at Doctify Australia, Nathan Hill, discovered that not only football can be enjoyable. Now he shares his top tips on how to be more active.
How do you contribute to the Race around the World?
I do lots of cycling and running. Before lockdown, I would play football instead, but I am glad to try new activities. I recently completed a half marathon to support Doctify’s Race around the World and contribute my miles to our team’s goal.
How do you manage to do sports whilst being top at your job?
It’s essential to have a routine. I like to put my workouts in my calendar so that it’s part of my schedule. That way, I always set aside time for my activities without affecting my work.
What are your tips for someone who is struggling to do sports?

“At Doctify, our mission to improve patient care is weaved throughout everything we do. When Paul joined the team we had a real-life reminder of how very important our mission is.
“As a team we’ve done lots of fun challenges and activities focused on nurturing our mind, body and spirit. When deciding on our next team activity, we took inspiration from Paul, his family and their moving story. It inspired us to focus not only on our fitness, but also on putting our feet on the street to support all of the Little Miracles in our lives and for our patients’ loved ones too.”
