What makes you stand out as a clinic?

Neuropedia Children’s Neuroscience Center is the first highly specialist pediatric neuroscience center in UAE, offering state-of-the-art expert care to children and young people across the UAE and GCC countries.

Neuropedia, the neuroscience center in Dubai, provides comprehensive care for infants, children and young people with a wide spectrum of acute and chronic neurological, developmental, behavioral and psychological disorders.

The Pediatric Neuroscience specialist care is provided by a board-certified team of highly qualified, motivated and passionate health professionals keeping the child and family at the center of the decision-making process. At Neuropedia Dubai, we bring together pediatric neurologists, child psychiatrists and allied health professionals trained in the UK, Europe and USA. We believe in a multi-disciplinary approach and work together to cater to the needs unique to each child and family. We see children from ages 0-16 years and in some special circumstances up to 18 years of age. The Children’s Neuroscience Center never fails to provide children and families with a comprehensive approach from initial diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation and long-term follow-up care under one roof.

Can you tell us about a success story where you treated a particularly challenging case?

In our clinical practice, we see a number of complex neurological cases.  We have a number of patients that have cerebral palsy and are unable to sit or walk at an appropriate age. These children undergo an interdisciplinary rehabilitation program overseen by our pediatric neurologists. After a few years of treatment, the most satisfying outcome is when you see these children walking. Similarly, a large number of cases with epilepsy under the care of our pediatric neurologists have a better quality of life when their epileptic seizures are controlled.

How do you keep up to date with the latest research and technology?

We are a clinic that develop and practice evidence-based medicine throughout our departments. Our clinicians regularly attend relevant medical education seminars to keep themselves updated.

We are the first specialized clinic in the private sector to initiate a ketogenic diet service for children with refractory epilepsy.  We have brought in a very successful program called BrainRx to help children improve their neurocognitive abilities.

As a clinic, you are engaging in patient feedback with Doctify – what importance do you place on patient feedback?

Patient feedback is one of the most crucial components of quality improvement and we have always urged our patients and parents to be honest in providing their feedback so that we as a clinic can continue to improve our services.

How do you think the wider medical field is adapting to a more connected and informed patient?

Many clinics and hospitals in the region are now emphasizing on the need for patient-centric care and using digital resources and newer technology to help them develop this ethos within their clinic.
