I have been working with Dominic for over a year, and have seen great progress in that time period. He is professional and exceptionally knowledgeable, with an ability to get to the root of any issue I was facing. If you are considering therapy I highly recommend reaching out to Dominic!

I can't recommend Dominic highly enough. My sessions with him were not only extremely effective at addressing the specific issues I was having at the time, but also addressed larger identity topics, especially LGBTQ+ identity topics, in such a useful and thoughtful way. He not only helped me to recover and feel better, but set me on a path to be excited and optimistic about building my gay identity. He approached these topics with insight, sympathy, and with his own insight and experiences which helped immensely. His explanations were clear, his methodology was understandable, and his manner was always excellent. He asked thoughtful questions and always kept to a productive aim. I'm so grateful to have worked with Dominic.

I found Dr Desai through Bupa finder and I had my first and only session via Zoom, in September 2023. I was seeking help due to high levels of stress and depression, due to family health issues and personal and working matters. I chose Dr Desai as he seemed very experienced and knowledgable in the matters which I was looking for. I always had a perception that mental health professionals are very emphatic and compassionate towards their clients/patients, and I also understand it can be very challenging dealing with people's mental health issues. So right in the very start of the session I felt some level of distance between us, he felt quite cold and it felt like he wasn't engaged. It almost seemed like he was in a hurry to get the meeting over with. On his request I described to Dr Desai why I was looking for help and I also shared my personal concerns about my mental health issues. His demeanour continued to be relatively cold and almost uninterested. I felt I was not being understood and around 40 minutes into the hour session he stopped the session and said that he was not the right professional for me to move forward with. Based on the information on his website and bio on Bupa Finder, this surprised me as I picked him specifically because of what he said his experience was. He gave a few notes about what I should be looking for in a professional and signed off. After the zoom I felt extremely disappointed as he felt disinterested in the whole session and after the research I had done and the reviews I had read, I had got my hopes up. I felt the way he handled the session lacked compassion and empathy and it left me feeling down about the situation. The notes he gave me about what I should be looking for were vague and made me feel even more lost. I contacted Bupa to express my disappointment with the session, and the told me they would cover the cost and apologised, saying they would direct the feedback to necessary people.

I have really appreciated Dominic's time over these past few months. His constructive, supportive and direct approach was exactly what I needed and his understanding of cultural nuances set up a good foundation for us to work from.

I (a non-binary, 23 year old from London) completed 6 months of therapy guided by Dr Dominic Plant Desai, during this time I explored personal habits/patterns which I felt were limiting my quality of life and my potential. It was my first experience with therapy and Dr Desai initially assisted me in deciding what type would be helpful for me (talk/explorative therapy) and discussed what this approach would include. As the weeks went on, Dominic made me feel comfortable and safe when discussing topics I never had before and always ensured I was emotionally regulated by the end of our sessions. We were able to identify what changes I wanted to make and what methods I could use to achieve those changes. We were able to build a rapport which was professional but enjoyable! I looked forward to our sessions because I knew that even if I didn’t have the answers to my problems by the end, I would have a better understanding of how to resolve/forgive/recognise them. Therapy, I think, will inevitably include awkward silences, emotional outbursts, uncertainty & confusion but Dominic was great at normalising these circumstances and allowed me to accept and embrace those moments. There were a couple of weeks where I didn’t know what to talk about and Dominic was always able to guide me to a place where I still felt the session was productive and useful. Overall, I feel my time with Dr Desai was invaluable and has led me to be a more honest, secure and decisive person.

My experience with Dominic was brilliant — calm, welcoming and supportive from the beginning, he explained the process to me upfront in detail so I knew what to expect. He was amazing at identifying issues and helping me not just understand them but develop approaches to manage my approach to what I was experiencing. The process was exactly what I needed and I have come out the other side feeling more confident, more settled and more human. Highly recommended.

Dominic is a very intelligent, articulate, educated and yet personable psychologist. I received therapy over three years throughout some of the most challenging experiences of my life. I was not previously an advocate of therapy but my journey with Dominic has altered my outlook. I was able to overcome PTSD and low mood by having consistent sessions with a "human being" who did not make me feel like I'm just another client in the walk of life's difficulties. I felt acknowledged and understood which encouraged me to open up and share more. I am so grateful for the support I've been able to receive over the last three years and cannot recommend Dominic highly enough. He is one of the best investments I made for my own mental well being.

Dr Plant is highly professional, empathetic and patient. I would highly recommend his services with great enthusiasm. He was thorough with his assessment and kind in his practice towards me, which created a safe and welcoming environment to explore my concerns and challenges in.
5
Dr Plant was very thoughtful and knowledgeable, and gave me CBT-based tools and insights that were, and continue to be, very helpful for me in working through the difficulties I came to him to work through.

My time with Dr Plant was pivotal to improving my quality of life. I started therapy with a goal of being able to control intrusive thought, be less anxious and to generally to be happier. My sessions gave me the tools to achieve these goals and more, I now feel much more confident and I understand why I was feeling the way I was. Sessions with Dr Plant are great, he is very friendly, understanding of your problems and explains very clearly what is happening. We first started by learning how to cope in the short term and then started focusing more on how to deal with my problems in the longer term, the result of this was that from day 1, I started feeling gradually better and ultimately ended up with the tools to deal with any issues that may pop up.
