Dr Ed Abrahamson is a highly experienced general paediatrician in London, with 36 years in paediatrics.
He has held a specialist interest in emergency medicine throughout his career and set up the Paediatric Emergency Department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 1995, where he was the Head of the department for two decades and worked there until June 2020.
Dr Ed has a large private practice and treats the full range of general paediatric conditions; he is particularly passionate about ensuring children receive vaccinations and avoiding unnecessary use of medication, such as antibiotics for minor viral infection. He has a genuinely holistic view of medicine, looking at the well being of the parents and other siblings in factors involving his patient's health. He actively involves parents in all decision making.
Aside from two educational medical books he has authored, he was a contributing author to the book, GROW by Frankie Bridge, published 2021 by Octopus Publishers, outlining advice and guidance for parents.
His clinics are at London's Cromwell Hospital, Monday to Thursday
Dr Abrahamson has received recognition for his work including a Bronze Clinical Excellence Award and being named in the top 100 children's doctors in Britain by The Times in 2012.
He was Vice President of the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust 2019-2022 before being appointed Life Vice-President. He is also an active supporter and fund-raiser for the surf therapy charity, the Wave Project. He lives in Cornwall at weekends with his husband and his boys (Jack Russells).
Whilst born in Ireland, he is of Eastern European origin and very proud of his Jewish heritage.

My son was seen by Dr Abrhamson following a persistent cough. In addition to his wonderful bedside manner with both my son and daughter (also in attendance) his clinical skills and care were exemplary. He instilled confidence and calm in us all and quickly reached a diagnosis and management plan. The care continued after we left the hospital with regular checkins to monitor his progress and with the results of the various diagnostics we had. The treatment plan was effective and my son is now returning to better health. An exceptional doctor who I recommend highly! Thankyou Dr Ed!

Overall very positive. Dr Ed is pragmatic and clear in his comms. He also demonstrates knowing his patients, and appointments build on each other even when months apart, which is in my view positive.

Dr Ed, has been the Pediatrician of my two daughters since they were born. Now they are 9 and 7. I have no words to describe his empathy and professional approach and most of all he has a magic way to connect with children (my girls love to go to see him). He is simply my lifesaver, the best Pediatrician! I highly recommend.

Dr Ed is always clear and concise in his explanations while at the same time giving my son time to acclimatise to the appointment. He is extremely knowledgable, caring and thorough. Wouldn’t go to anyone else if I could help it!

I love Dr Ed. He has such a brilliant and natural way with children. Makes it fun and relaxed (as is possible). And of course great knowledge. It’s always a pleasure to see him in spite of circumstances!
