Graham’s expertise includes improving the sexual well-being and pleasure for all patients. He has particular interest, experience, and expertise in sexual function; kink; gender-affirming treatment for trans and gender diverse people, management of sexually transmitted infections including HIV; and sexual health care for men who have sex with men; sex workers; and people who use drugs.

Graham is a Specialist Sexual Health Physician and one of only two working in the private
sector in Queensland.

Graham cares for many trans and gender diverse people in the provision of their gender-affirming treatment. You can also see Graham for other sexual health issues such as HIV and STI management and sex therapy.

Graham has been working in sexual health and HIV for over 30 years both clinically and in public health. He left Australia in 1995 and worked for United Nations agencies and other international development organisations as an HIV and sexual health expert in many countries in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and elsewhere.

Highlights from this time include his work in Bangkok from 2011-2012, during which time, he led a major consultation on transgender health
for the World Health Organization. With the United Nations Development
program, Graham led the development of “The Time Has Come”, a toolkit to
reduce stigma and discrimination against trans and gender diverse
people in the health sector. Graham spent the previous 10 years in
Bangkok as the Technical Advisor on Sexual and Reproductive Health with
Family Health International.

In 2013, Graham returned to his home of Brisbane.

Subsequently, Graham was also the Senior Staff Specialist at the Gender Service of RBWH for which he was instrumental in its establishment in 2017.

More recently, he was the Co-Chair of the QLD Health Sexual Health Clinical Network, and previously, Graham also served as a member of the Sexual Health Ministerial Advisory Committee for QLD Health.

Graham is a member of both AusPATH and WPATH.

In addition to his Masters of Medicine degree in Sexual Health from
the University of Sydney, Graham holds two specialist Fellowships from
the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, one in Sexual Health
Medicine and the other in Public Health Medicine. He has published
widely on sexual health issues.

Graham also holds an Academic Title as a Senior Lecturer at the School of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, University of Queensland. From January 2024, he will have the title of Associate Professor.

Graham is passionate about sexual health and social justice. He believes that sexual health is a central and fundamental aspect of our lives as humans and that it determines the strength of our closest relationships, happiness and well-being for our entire lives.
