Dr. Edward Tsoi is an esteemed gastroenterologist and hepatologist practising at Mitcham Private Hospital. He completed his medical degree at Monash University in 2006, followed by specialty training in Gastroenterology and General Medicine at Monash Health, Austin Health, and Northern Health in Victoria. In 2015, Dr. Tsoi earned a Master of Public Health from the University of Newcastle, and attained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians later that year.
Dr. Tsoi pursued advanced subspecialty training in advanced endoscopy at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, where he developed expertise in managing conditions such as Barrett’s oesophagus, performing endoscopic mucosal resections, and evaluating small bowel diseases using techniques like double balloon enteroscopy and capsule endoscopy.
In 2021, he successfully completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) thesis at the University of Melbourne, focusing on controversies in the management of Barrett’s oesophagus related dysplasia.
Currently, Dr. Tsoi practises at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and Northern Health, where he provides comprehensive care across all aspects of gastroenterology including liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and bowel cancer screening. He is actively involved in teaching medical students and has contributed extensively to international journals and presented at numerous national and international conferences.
