Dr. Puneet Mahindra is an experienced gastroenterologist and hepatologist at Complex Gastro Health. He completed his foundation training at University Hospital Aintree (Liverpool) and University Hospital Coventry before pursuing a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Box Hill Hospital and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, achieving Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2012. Dr. Mahindra subsequently undertook two years of advanced endoscopy fellowship at St Vincent’s Hospital, focusing on research related to Barrett’s oesophagus and oesophageal cancers.

Currently, Dr. Mahindra holds public appointments at St Vincent’s Hospital and Northern Health. His clinical expertise encompasses performing gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and video capsule endoscopy (Pill Cam), with a particular emphasis on bowel cancer screening and prevention. He conducts regular procedures at Mitcham Private Hospital.

Dr. Mahindra’s professional interests span a wide range of gastroenterological conditions including Barrett’s oesophagus, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and various liver diseases such as viral hepatitis and fatty liver disease. He continues to actively engage in research on oesophageal disorders and interventional endoscopy at St Vincent’s Hospital and the University of Melbourne.

Dedicated to holistic patient care, Dr. Mahindra is committed to teaching gastroenterology trainees and endoscopy nurses. He extends his services to Alexandra District Health as part of his commitment to serving rural communities across Australia.
