Dr. Farhat Ahmed Arsalan is a highly experienced Consultant General and Laparoscopic Surgeon with over 21 years of comprehensive medical practice. She received her medical degree from Sindh Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan, and completed her Fellowship in General Surgery from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. Dr. Arsalan is affiliated with prestigious institutions such as the Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Prior to her current role at Zulekha Hospital, Dr. Arsalan spent over 12 years practising in Saudi Arabia, where she worked across various hospitals including a public teaching hospital and private institutions. Her most recent position was at Aldara Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where she served as a Consultant General and Laparoscopic Surgeon, Chair of the Surgical Division, and Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Al Faisal Medical University.

Dr. Arsalan's expertise spans a wide range of surgical procedures, both general and laparoscopic. She is highly skilled in managing surgical emergencies, conducting preoperative assessments, optimising patient care, and providing comprehensive pre and postoperative support. Her special interests include thyroid surgeries (lobectomy, isthmusectomy, total thyroidectomy), breast surgeries (lumpectomy, mastectomy, conservative breast surgery), hernia repairs (open and laparoscopic), gallbladder surgeries (cholecystectomy), appendectomies, diagnostic laparoscopy, hemorrhoid treatments (including stapling and laser techniques), anal fissures, pilonidal sinus surgeries, intestinal resections, splenectomies, and various other general surgical procedures.

Fluent in English, Arabic, Urdu, and Hindi, Dr. Arsalan is dedicated to providing compassionate care and ensuring the highest standards of surgical excellence. Her research contributions include publications on topics such as mammogram sensitivity and specificity according to BiRads scoring, and conservative treatments for mammillary duct fistula published in international journals.
