My entire experience at the Wellington from arrival to discharge was excellent. My hospital room was clean and spacious. I was cared for by an outstanding medical team, from my consultant to my anaesthetist, nursing team and physiotherapist. Each person that I encountered treated me with care and kindness. If you are choosing a hospital to undergo a procedure I definitely recommend the Wellington.

Effective and efficient

I have had long experience of out patient and in house care. I have always been completely satisfied, from the outstanding expertise of the consultants, to the care and kindness of nursing staff, the enjoyment, when permitted(!) of the food services and the efficiency of the cleaners.

I had a lovely stay: nice rooms, very friendly nurses and health professionals, and excellent treatment by Mr Alibhai and the anaesthetist.

The staff were excellent and the procedure although painful was carried out efficiently.. A bit of hanging around which couldn't be helped.

My experience of all the staff at the Queen's square hospital (including the imaging centre) is that they set the gold standard in terms of professionalism and care. That is why I was disappointed and shocked to discover that the message that I suffered from claustrophobia clearly had not been passed onto the radiographers for the scan. When I rang to confirm the appointment I was told not to worry as there were strategies in place for those suffering from claustrophobia. Clearly this was not the case. I have had several MRI scans and because of the number required and my phobia I was switched to an upright scanner. On the notes prior to the scan it suggested going to the G.P. to receive a sedative yet on the two times I rang up there was no suggestion of this and I was told my phobia has been written in my notes. Despite the care of the radiographers it was a upsetting and traumatic experience and I hope going forward that changes can be made so that other patients with the same phobia do not have to go through the same experience.
