The thought of Cataract Surgery was for me a daunting prospect…so I undertook some research and this led me to John’s website which I found informative and reassuring. I was surprised to learn of the range of interocular lenses available which gave me cause to consider the outcome I wanted - in my case to be glasses free. I settled on the Rayner RayOne Galaxy IOL and confirmed this choice during my pre-op examination with John. The surgery (bilateral) was pain free with both eyes completed within an hour. The result was spectacular! … excellent close up vision for reading and distance vision significantly better than 20/20. All in all an extremely successful procedure with precisely the outcome I had sought. I have no hesitation in recommending John and the excellent team at Tetbury Hospital.

Mr Wagh is a lovely gentleman. He explained clearly what my issues are, and his proposed treatment. This did not include surgery, which would have been in his financial interests and which had been recommended previously; and he explained very clearly why it was not the best course of action. The treatment he suggested is easily achievable without expensive assistance, and does feel like the best course of action even though I went into the consultation convinced I needed to go under the knife. I am very impressed with his bedside manner, ability to clearly explain the pro's and con's of all available options, and his recommending the best course of action for me, rather than including his own interests which we know from the recent news is not always the case.

He clearly explained the objective of the surgery, outlined the possible risks, which were low, and helped me understand each step of the procedure. He quite simply saved my life by correcting a part of my elbow that had healed incorrectly. And was blocking flexing my arm. Two years after the surgery, I feel very well. I am back in the gym, have full confidence in my elbow, and experience no issues at all in the surgical area. I am extremely happy with the treatment and care I received.

I chose Mr Attila Dezso because I was able to book a Saturday appointment and it was done online via the vitality website which shows available timeslots to book. Makes booking a lot easier rather than trying to find the time to call. He was very professional and then referred me to his colleague to carry out a sound test.

The 2 and half hour waiting time for a 5-minute test was severely dissatisfying. The endoscope tube was much too thick, thicker than it is necessary perhaps. Nowadays the medical technology is much advanced and I truly believe a thinner tube can do the job sufficiently as well as improving patient comfort.
