I honestly wish every doctor was like him — life would be so much simpler, with far less pain and frustration, and fewer people waiting endlessly for multiple appointments with different clinicians. It's not often that you feel this way about a medical professional. On both occasions, the doctor was incredibly professional, kind, and truly listened. He explained everything clearly, including the issues at hand and the procedures I could expect. His previous advice — particularly referring me for a shoulder injection — was absolutely spot on. It relieved a great deal of the pain, frustration, and movement restrictions I had been struggling with since my injury. Both appointments ran on time, which is always appreciated. At today's visit, I was also given clear and helpful guidance about the next steps regarding my elbow concerns. I left feeling reassured and well cared for. My eyes were really hurting whenever the lights were on in my room and I was feeling very weak and ill, so we reached out to Mr. Dharmasena. He saw me that same afternoon, and after a really thorough check-up, he realised the problem was actually something much more serious—and not just to do with my eyes: turned out my blood pressure was really low. He discovered that I was running a high fever off and on and I ended up in hospital that same day, and I think Mr Dharmasena’s quick decision saved my life because it turned out that I was septic. I had an enlarged liver, spleen, and kidney, plus swollen lymph nodes around major blood vessels. I honestly didn’t expect an eye doctor to be the one to spot something so serious, so quickly. Even after handing me over to the medical team, Mr. Dharmasena kept checking in and supporting me. He truly stepped up when it mattered. Thanks to his fast response and care, I’m doing much better now and continuing to recover. I’m really grateful to him and would 100% recommend him.

A good experience overall but there was one thing I think is worth mentioning for future patients, especially those who, like me, are hearing impaired: - the intercom system at the door was very quiet, i was unsure if anyone had heard the bell and I was left waiting for sometime to gain access - although I informed both the nurse and consultant that I was hearing impaired I had to say several times that I had not heard what they said as either their face was not directed towards me, or they spoke too quickly for me to catch everything they were saying. This was frustrating, as it was in my notes and I was particular in telling staff about my disability. Some staff training on hearing impaired patients wouldn't go amiss :).

I was allocated a nurse for daytime and another for nighttime. Both were excellent and knowledgeable. I can't fault the care I had there. Very minor gripe is that the aircon wasn't working properly and couldn't be changed, and only one of the two ceiling lights worked. Plus the seat in the shower didn't stay up when folded up so was a bit in the way. But these aren't really important, the care I received is, and that was brilliant.
