I’m a Consultant Cardiologist based in London and an Expert in the assessment, detection, and treatment of Heart Problems.
I have 20 years of clinical experience and trained at internationally renowned centres of excellence, such as King’s College Hospital and the Royal Brompton Hospital in London.
I don’t do a one-size-fits-all approach! I provide personalised care that is specifically tailored to your needs.
I specialise in 4 areas:
Feeling that discomfort in your chest or having trouble catching your breath?
Does your heart skip a beat? Don't wait around and wonder…I can help!
This is how I will work with you:
1. I won't rush you - I will listen.
I’ll ask questions about your symptoms, lifestyle, and family history to understand what's going on.
2. We’ll get to the bottom of your problem.
You might need tests like blood work, an ECG, or even an advanced scan. I will use my expertise to figure out the cause.
3. I’ll make a plan with you.
Once we know what's happening, I’ll explain everything clearly. Together, we'll decide on the best treatment, whether it's medication, lifestyle changes, or even a procedure.
A consultation with me will give you the answers you're looking for. You'll walk away knowing exactly what's going on, what treatment options are on the table (and what they mean for you)...and how to keep your heart happy and healthy for years to come.
Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to your heart!

Very relaxing, informative, open and friendly. He explained everythig very well and checked that I had understanding, or any further questions. He was able to offer medical intervention that could actually help me daily with my condition. It was great to finally see a specialist who could explain and help. Very helpful and very knowledgeable was a pleasure meeting Dr Amaral he put my mind at rest after a long wait and previous heart problems.

Dr Amaral not only took time to fully explain the outcome of the investigation into my supposed heart condition, but was patient, interested and interesting in discussing the way forward with regard to ensuring my continued good health. His whole manner ensured that it was an unhurried and adult experience. It was obviously fortunate that the result of a CT scan meant that I was receiving good news. I am certain that had the news been less encouraging Dr Amiral would have dealt with that scenario in a similarly compassionate manner.
