Areas of expertise
Skylight Psychiatry is a remote CQC-regulated specialist multidisciplinary service for adults. Their mission is to provide support, understanding, and a pathway to a brighter future for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and Down Syndrome, as well as those seeking assessment and support without a formal diagnosis.
Founded by two passionate professionals who shared a common vision, Skylight Psychiatry emerged from their recognition of the pressing need for improved access to timely assessments and treatment for the neurodiverse population. Informed by their own professional and personal experiences, they identified the challenges faced by individuals awaiting support within the stretched NHS services, especially during the global pandemic.
In addition to their commitment to providing comprehensive care, the team at Skylight Psychiatry are dedicated to environmental responsibility. They are actively working to reduce their carbon footprint, with a goal of becoming entirely paperless and carbon-neutral in the near future.
Skylight Psychiatry also takes an active role in advocating for awareness of neurodevelopmental disorders. They offer training programs designed for employers, caregivers, family members, healthcare professionals, and the general public. By fostering understanding and breaking down stigmas, Skylight Psychiatry seeks to ensure that individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders are treated fairly and receive the reasonable adjustments they deserve, in accordance with the Equality Act of 2010.

I was made to feel comfortable. Assessors were nice and exained everything thouragly. The assessment centre was easy to find with the information given to me. The pictures where really helpful
I felt listened to. I feel like I’m finally going to be helped. Thank you! It was a telephone appointment.
Staff were all very kind and accommodating. Every time I emailed with any queries/concerns, communication was good and prompt. The waiting time was longer than expected which created some stress, however, once it was all organised, it went on smoothly. I found the amount of questionnaires overwhelming and that there was no way to see whether I'd completed them all.
Excellent and friendly professional staff. Very happy with the service
Helen was very kind and understanding which made the process feel easier. The wait time for the appointment was long but I know that’s pretty standard now because there are so many people waiting. It also took weeks sometimes to get an email response. Overall though it was a good experience.
Really lovely friendly people and helped me feel at ease in an uncomfortable and nervous situation
Monique was a really excellent tester; she was patient, understanding and positively assertive when necessary. I was very quickly put at my ease, even though we had to use Teams after an IT glitch. The assessment process was not rushed and this allowed a really comprehensive conclusion. I was given useful advice and look forward to receiving the report.
The process from referral to assessment and diagnosis was really quick, i was emailed and reminded to complete my forms which i need, i was anxious about the assessment but Tracey made me feel comfortable and did well to follow my erratic monologues, she was friendly and patient
Skylight were very communicative and supportive. I felt listened to and seen. I'm so grateful to them for that.
