He made me feel at ease after an anxious pregnancy, always talking through any questions or concerns I had. My experience wouldn’t have been the same without him and the safe arrival of our baby. Writing this after a week passed after the labour. The labour induction was scheduled at Fitzrovia UCLH, but the baby decided to arrive two days earlier, at night. When there was full dilation, Dr Shalini allowed me not to push right away but when I’m ready (I think labouring down took about half an hour), also she was able to get out the baby while I was on my knees with just a little stitch. When I was pushing, I wasn’t able to listen to instructions, but I’ve remembered Dr Shalini pushing instructions from our prenatal meetings and it helped. I was able to discharge from the hospital the same day my kid was born and never remembered to take pain killers, never needed them. So if you want to have vaginal birth at Fitzrovia UCLH (if it’s possible in your circumstances) I highly recommend Dr Shalini.
