At my local hospital, I was diagnosed with faulty heart valves and acromegaly caused by a pituitary adenoma. Due to the complexity of my case, I was referred to Mr Srivastava at The John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. From our initial meeting onwards, he was courteous, calm and extremely professional. He was also very reassuring, and always took the time to answer all my questions fully. Despite the risks involved, I was delighted that Mr Srivastava agreed to do the operation! It involved repairing my mitral and tricuspid valves and doing a left atrial appendage occlusion. The operation was a complete success, and I was discharged from his care some 9 months later.
