He listened and responded with clear explanations and positive suggestions. I found him approachable and he addressed any doubts and questions, from me and my family, both knowledgeably and reassuringly and with appropriate humour. Perhaps the most outstanding feature of my experience with Professor Purkayastha was his compassion and clear devotion to what he does. He shows humility and never underestimates the trust placed in him, considering it an honour to be able to help. It was a privilege to be treated by him and my surgery has been a huge success! Special thanks also to Dr Alex Wickham, consultant anaesthetist, who prepared me for surgery and allayed any fears.
