I had a great experience with Professor Sandhu. I never felt rushed or unheard as he would always take the time to explain his opinion/findings, as well as the options available to me. He would also ensure any questions I had were answered in the appointment before any decision on next steps were made. We built trust very quickly considering when I first met with him I was quite nervous about my condition and what lay ahead. But he always reassured me and not by way of overpromising any particular outcome, which felt genuine and honest. I perceive him as extremely competent and professional with clear explanations and very approachable. I initially consulted him about a reduction in hearing ability which I thought was the result of an obstruction. Nick considered the possibility of a more serious condition (vasculitis) which after tests proved to be the case. The condition developed before final diagnosis and I collapsed and spent 8 days in hospital. I continue to be treated and progress is good but my prognosis could have been a lot worse without Nick identifying the possibility of vasculitis and I may have died or suffered a serious stroke as a result of the way the disease affected me.
