I was anxious to get my molar tooth taken out and had to be turned away a week before as I couldn’t find the place so I’ve been stressing about this surgery for over a week. Once I got there 10mins early I waited and waited and waited yikes for 40mins which I wouldnt have minded to be honest as delays happen for genuine reasons but where I was anxious already I started googling tooth extraction and local anaesthesia etc which made my anxiety hit the roof. Thankfully I was called in when I got up second time to ask how much longer I had to wait. I was greeted by a lovely Dentist; Chantal. She was immediately apologetic when I explained I had waited 40mins and I’m really anxious about today’s surgery. She straightway started reassuring me, making sure I was comfortable and took time to explain the procedure. Her voice was calming and that helped hugely 😃 What I loved was how attentive she was and kept me in the loop at every stage and I mean at every minute detail she explained what was happening and what is going to happen and how I may feel and reminding me to raise my hand should I need to for help. My tooth was a little stubborn so some drilling needed to be done but again all calmly explained and my nerves subsided. I didn’t feel no pain but just a lot of pulling and tugging which was explained to me beforehand. The surgery was meticulously carried out and the aftercare explained properly. However i did ask for written aftercare info which was already in the assistants hand as by the point I was able to take much info in so I was relieved to see some paperwork to take with me to read in my own comfort. Overall a surprisingly pleasant experience and I doubt having Dr Burgess carry the surgery out was a huge part of this. Thank you.
