Dr Sarkhel was very efficient and flexible with appointments, which made it easier to go through the diagnosis process. I like that he takes a holistic approach to treatment - we don't just discuss medication during check ups, but additional external support like counseling and social activities. This is helping me to better manage my ADHD symptoms and capitalise on the boost the medication provides to create better habits. It's not easy, but having check ups on these additional factors helps me stay on track. His assistants are also great at sending appointment reminders and checking if you need rescheduling, which helps me remember how close it is and make any changes with better than notice than if I handled it on my own.

If you are reading this, then you may be considering Dr. Abdelghani, I saw him and am writing this for ADHD but I hope you will still read this for whatever reason you are seeing him. Dr Abdelghani is simply one of the kindest Men I’ve ever met, he has your best interest at heart. I hope he won’t mind me saying, I decided to write this review at the end of the process so that I’d have a full understanding of what it is and how it could help me. I hope to share my story and that interaction with him, with you. I’m the managing director of a small business, it wasn’t until my 50’s that I discovered that my son was ADHD, neither he or I are hyperactive which makes it harder to spot. I instinctively knew that there was something in my son that I recognised in me but I couldn’t put my finger on it. I was/am dyslexic (diagnosed) and my behaviour was always put down to that but for me it didn’t really explain it. I’ve always known there was something in me that made me feel different from my peers, not better, not worse, just different. Some things I struggled with, like paying attention and remembering what I was doing from one second to another or remembering names at a party (how I learned to mask!)… and for some things I seemed to have superhuman abilities, almost as though the rest of the world was in slow motion. My ability to hyper-focus is outstanding. For my son, our journey began when his grades started to nosedive and his teenage behaviour started to kick in. He was getting wins (in his mind) at school for mucking around and the endless detentions had little or no effect other than to make the situation worse and worse until eventually, his tutor confessed to me in a parent-teacher meeting that “This is the worst parent-teacher meeting I’ve ever had to do.” It was a penny drop moment and in that second I decided to remove him from the school. Luckily his next school recognised the behaviour almost immediately and embraced him. Some months later I was invited to a school seminar, along with a few other parents, on ADHD. I listened intently and like a wave crashing through my consciousness, it sunk in. By the end of it I was in tears. This was it. Not just my son’s but now my life suddenly made sense and we could start the journey with my lovely boy. How happy I was to have what seemed like an answer. Once you know you can start to tackle it and that’s the real benefit. And then I came across Dr Abdelghani. There was a lot in the press about bad actors in the ADHD market, even on Harley Street. I can’t tell you about that because my experience has been 100% positive but there are negative stories you can find about the treatment. We are talking about our children here, I’m talking about my child so naturally I was cautious. Dr Abdelghani doesn’t treat children or didn’t when I saw him. I decided that I wanted to go on the journey so that I could fully understand the benefits of the treatment before asking my son to do it. Dr Abdelghani and his team were nothing but lovely from the start, very understanding, very caring and very professional. The process is very structured, he asks lots of questions of me and my loved ones too. They also had questionnaires so that he could build a full picture. I went for my first meeting and he had lots of questions for me. Putting all the evidence together and after the consultation, he felt confident that I had ADHD. When you see the questionnaires you will understand both how in-depth it is and realise that there is an understanding of the condition. Not all the questions are yes some don’t match some do, not all ADHD people are the same either. He is not looking to diagnose those that are not and you will see that. You can have full trust in Dr Abdelghani. The first treatment I tried made me feel very odd, it’s hard to explain, just not really myself, so we immediately changed it and I went on to another treatment, I don’t think it’s helpful to give you treatment names because I think it’s important that you have faith. I went into this with huge excitement, I was looking for a magic pill that would fix me, change my life and make it all go away. I started on the smallest dose but was somehow expecting some sort of miracle to happen. I reported back that I could feel mild benefits but not a great deal. So Dr Abdelghani tried me on a larger dose and again I reported more benefits but was not overwhelmed so finally he tried me on the largest dose. I loved it, finally, I was able to hold focus not just for a short time but all day. It was amazing but over the next month, I realised that I was sunk in concentration! It was my hyperfocus but all the time and this didn’t feel good either so we lowered the dose again and then again until I was back at the start with the lowest dose. And this is where I sit. This may be a surprize to you… is it a miracle? No. Has it solved my ADHD? No. Does it help me function? Yes. Has my life improved? Yes. So where are the benefits for me. It’s simple, I can focus more consistently than I’ve been able to in the past and that’s huge. It’s improved my working life, allowed me to progress and not to be held back by an inability to stay tuned in to the task as hand. What it hasn’t done. I don’t feel as though it’s helped with my emotional regulation. My memory is still rubbish but I still have all the benefits of ADHD but have lost some of the things that held me back which is lovely. I’m not saying it will work for you. It may not. I’m just saying what worked for me and I’m so grateful to have met Dr Abdelghani. In conclusion So the reason I did it was for my son , now 19, he has since decided to take a different route. His decision. He has turned to natural ways of dealing with it which is amiable. He has cold showers in the morning which helps his body to regenerate endorphins, you should hear him puffing, he does a great deal of sport and exercise which helps him and he forces himself to compete, no easy task for people with ADHD who don’t get much of a win from achieving. Good on him, at least he understands it, the treatment is there for the taking if he decides he wants it in the future. For me… I’m sticking with it :-) I wish you so much luck, my heart burst for you. Charles

This consultation was around childhood abuse, therefore, of a very personal nature and sometimes difficult to discuss. However, I felt Hana was extremly professional, understanding and empathic through out the session. She gave me a diagnosis and explained in details the implications that caused me to experience the symtons that regularly occur on a weekly basis. In addition Hana also directed me towards alternate support that would help me over come some of my issues. Incidently, I liked her and did not feel at any time through out the assessment that I could not say what i needed.
