Thank you Dr Persad. After several serious water infections I was put onto a catheter with an anticipated 18 week waiting list. I was very concerned about the long term effect this would have on regaining normal bladder functions . As a result I decided to pay privately and was referred to Dr Persad. A Rezum operation was discussed, but after Mr Persad did a more detailed examination he suggested a Bladder Neck Incision operation. This has completely transformed my future prospects. I now have a better flow than for many years and am able to empty my bladder well. Thank you Dr Persad for diagnosing and performing the best procedure. I am catheter free which is enabling me to enjoy a healthy and active future

Tev talked me through the procedure, its pluses and minuses, with a clear understanding of the sufferers state of mind, concerns and expectations. I was therefore left in no doubt about my decision to proceed and my confidence was hightened by his reassurances. The procedure was no more troublesome than expected and I clearly recognised every step and element of the explanation I had been given. In terms of benefit: • I now have excellent bladder capacity • At each urination I empty my bladder completely • My bladder control is back to that of twenty years ago, especially with regard to “When & Where!” • Sexual urge and capability is maintained although as expected, ejaculation is retro (backwards into the bladder) which is not inconvenient and a small price to pay for the day to day advantages of having undergone HoLep.

Despite my diagnosis Professor PS made the whole experience as easy as possible for me. He explained everything fully and in simple terms. He advised on both preparation for, and post operation. Both credible and reliable PSs level of confidence was very reassuring to me throughout; he always did what he said he would do which is very rare these days. He genuinely had my best interests at heart at all points of our conversations and was always available. Whilst succint, PS has an excellent 'bedside' manner and where appropriate could inject humour to a conversation. It was also clear to me that PS was respected and well liked by the team.
