Excellent surgeon explained everything thoroughly

Prof Levy is a charming gentleman who is clearly an impressive expert in his field: he understood exactly the nature of my injury and explained what he was going to do in order to put it right. He used a slightly experimental ‘patch’ system to mend the tear in my rotator cuff, considering I was an appropriate candidate for it. He was right: the ultrasound today revealed, after a year, perfect healing. I have good movement, but still feel some pain, especially at night, and have been reassured it will most likely settle down, but with the offer of further pain relief in a few months, should this not be the case. My one and only objection to my treatment by Prof Levy is that, although I knew it would be painful in the first weeks and months, he might have told me before the operation that it would be EXTREMELY painful and that this was normal. I guess he was trying not to scare me, (some people might well prefer, I admit, not to be told this) but severe pain is frightening, the more so, I find, if even worse than expected. (Coincidentally I met two men who had had the same operation, both of whom admitted to extreme reactions to the pain). I wholeheartedly recommend Prof Levy - I find it difficult to believe there could be a better shoulder surgeon and I owe him a great deal.

Following an xray I was treated immediately, it fixed 90% of the problem and relieved the pain. A follow up appointment fixed the remaining minor issue. I was hoping for a miracle and I was very surprised to get one.
