I was impressed by his calm profesional manner. He provided clear explanations of medical issues and procedures in a way that was accessible to a layman. He took time to understand my concerns as a patient and to answer all my questions. He made the test data available to me so I had the opportunity to keep my own patient records. His personal assistant responded promptly to all my emails and managed the adminstrative matters competently and effectively. He has that rare skill of making you feel like you are his only patient, while you have the comfort of knowing that you are not!

The embolization procedure was a much preferred option for me than a more intrusive hysterectomy. It was quick, minimum discomfort and amazingly effective, in that the considerable reduction in my very heavy periods was virtually instant. I would go as far as to say it was life-changing and I have never looked back. The procedure not only saw me through until after the menopause, when my periods would stop anyway, but now 15 years down the line, still the fibroids remain ‘shrunk’ and not causing me any issues. I would recommend the procedure to anyone faced with multiple or large fibroids that have a considerable impact on your life and well-being. Dr Crowe could not have done more or been more accommodating.

Knowing that this surgery could have longterm emotional implications for myself, Mr. Mackey made sure that I had spoken to a psychologist prior to the surgery. Mr. Mackey at every point wanted me to be realistic and grounded about the potential outcome of the surgery - but even still, everything turned out better than I could have ever imagined. Mr. Mackey is very friendly, and anyone would be lucky to have him in their operating theatre.

Very approachable with the perfect blend of professionalism and friendly manner. Miles explained all the options, the associated risks and his advice was perfectly clear and very helpful. On the day of the procedure, we chatted through what was to happen beforehand, and he came and saw me before he went to other duties after I was fully conscious.
