After a lengthy and extremely challenging complaints process, during which my concerns were unheard in stages one and two, I finally saw some acknowledgment of shortcomings during stage three’s independent adjudication. I feel compelled to share my experience. My complaint stemmed from a lack of perceived support, compassion, and empathy during a devastating situation following a life-changing lower blepharoplasty procedure by David Gateley at New Victoria Hospital. I developed complications that required additional surgery, which was not offered, leading to urgent intervention through the NHS. Throughout this distressing period, I felt unsupported and without guidance from the hospital. I need revision surgery to address both functional and aesthetic issues, but New Victoria Hospital did not offer to provide this as I was two months outside their terms and conditions for revision. This decision came despite significant complications that required NHS surgery and months of treatment and healing. While they could have waived the terms, they chose not to assist. Additionally, they refused a refund despite the shortcomings identified during the independent adjudication. Now, I am burdened with the financial responsibility of self-funding the necessary revision surgeries to address functional and aesthetic issues, including those acknowledged by David Gateley after my original surgery. My intent in sharing this experience is to raise awareness about the importance of patient care and communication. I hope that by highlighting my situation, future experiences for others can be improved and the hospital's values can be critically evaluated.

Very comfortable facilities - a single room for my recovery and round the clock attendance by nurses. Excellent food. The only part that could have been better was that my surgery was delayed by many hours due to the surgeon's schedule but there was little communication to me about it, which meant that after a long wait I ended up asking to clarify when the procedure would take place and whether I could eat or drink etc.

The standard of care is second to none and the staff are wonderful. I would happily recommend The Princess Grace Hospital.

My experiences of OneWelbeck have been wholly positive. I have had several consultations, an MRI scan and surgery there and throughout it all I was welcomed by a friendly team who took time to explain things to me. Everyone that I have met there has been professional and friendly, and the whole experience made me feel in very safe hands.
