Mr Aruna Munasinghe has been a brilliant surgeon and consultant. I had researched all treatments with the advantages and disadvantages and as I result I had many questions but Mr Aruna Munasinghe took the time to discuss everything with me, he gave me titles of current evidence and explained all the ins and outs of surgery. I have never met as brilliant a consultant and surgeon as Mr Aruna Munasinghe and I work within healthcare.

Professor Purkayastha's surgical success rate and record of procedures is impressive and the results speak for themselves. I had no doubt I was in safe hands. However, this is just part of what makes an exceptional experience. From the first consultation Professor Purkayastha was attentive and engaged. He listened and responded with clear explanations and positive suggestions. I found him approachable and he addressed any doubts and questions, from me and my family, both knowledgeably and reassuringly and with appropriate humour. Perhaps the most outstanding feature of my experience with Professor Purkayastha was his compassion and clear devotion to what he does. He shows humility and never underestimates the trust placed in him, considering it an honour to be able to help. It was a privilege to be treated by him and my surgery has been a huge success! Special thanks also to Dr Alex Wickham, consultant anaesthetist, who prepared me for surgery and allayed any fears. Also to Marcella who makes everything run smoothly and for always being friendly and helpful.

My gallbladder was full of stones and needed to be removed to reduce risk of pancreatitis. AXA had referred me yet again to a consultant who was not a surgeon. I would have had to call AXA and have another appointment with a surgeon but Dr Vasilikostas fitted me in after his clinic finished and scheduled me for surgery within two weeks. He was kind, reassuring and professional.

Dev was very accommodating in reviewing me beyond his usual clinic commitments. He was very clear in his assessment and the way forward. Very kind of Dev to find time to help me with my health issues.

From the Moment I met Prof Patel at our first consultation, I knew I was in excellent hands. He explained the surgery that I required (whipple) in great detail and answered the questions that myself and my Wife had with great care and compassion and really made me feel a lot happier and comfortable as to what I should expect over the coming months. In hospital, the Prof once again demonstrated to me his passion for, just being one of the best at what he does. Everytime he came to see how I was progressing, still in hospital, post op, he listen intently to how I was feeling, not just physically but mentally as well and showed me so much compassion, love and care, even on Christmas morning the Prof came in to see how I was doing, he didn't need to, when many had finished work for the holiday. I am recovering really well and have huge admiration respect and gratitude to Professor Ameet Patel, I thank you and all your team. Paul D
