Good experience

The online and telephone procedures for booking, confirming and updating appointments worked very smoothly and with minimal delays. My overall impression of the hospital throughout was one of calm, efficiency and professionalism. The reception staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful. Likewise the nursing and support staff I met could not have been more supportive and friendly - and sympathetic when required in the few anxious moments.

Wait time at reception was poor, with no explanation of +30 min wait at times.

The whole business was carried out in a simple, straightforward way. The only slightly uncomfortable part was having the necessary drops and the discomfort was of very short duration. The actual procedure - the lasering - was totally painless. I had anticipated that, in the short term, my eyesight might be affected adversely but this was not the case. Not quite true: my near vision was immediately improved massively but the downside of this was that I am sporting far more wrinkles than I had thought! Perhaps this will calm down, even if the wrinkles don’t!

Always great service

From my first visit I was impressed with Spa Medica. All staff friendly and helpful. My selection of Freedom vision was down to my optometrist in Burnley. I think the only thing I didn't like was the cold shower during the cataract op which the surgeon jokingly said was a free addon. Full marks all round.

Hospital is fine

Unbelievable. Felt so relaxed . Staff are lovely and friendly. Liza Smallman was very caring.. Mr Vincent Dubois ( surgeon ) was outstanding. I didn’t think anything could be done for my Left eye BUT he made it better than it ever has been. I’ve never been able to read with that eye as it was so weak. Looking forward to having my Right eye done in a couple of weeks. And no reason to fear. Amazing team.

Some small issues with getting blood results from pre-op shared with my GP but otherwise a positive experience
