Dr Steve Bandula is an Interventional Oncology Consultant and Head of Interventional Radiology at University College Hospital, London. Dr Bandula is a specialist in the treatment of a variety of tumours including those of the lung, liver, soft tissue and bone with the use of microwaves, radiofrequencies and minimally invasive ablation techniques such as cryoablation and electroporation.
Dr Bandula trained at Cambridge University, completed Radiology and Interventional training at UCH, and in 2011 was awarded an NIHR doctoral fellowship to complete a PhD in non-invasive tissue characterisation at UCL.
Dr Bandula is a member of the Interventional Oncology UK (IOUK) national committee and regularly lecturers at national and international meetings. He is a senior lecturer in cancer intervention at UCL, with a research interest in the development and clinical translation of novel minimally invasive therapies. He also runs the Foundation for Interventional and Oncology Research (FOIR) - part of University College Hospital Charitable Trust.
