Michael Giakoumis is a highly specialised Physiotherapist with a background in strength and conditioning, particularly in athletics. Graduating from the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, he continued his academic pursuits with a Master's degree in Strength & Conditioning at Edith Cowan University in Perth, followed by another Master's in Sports Physiotherapy at La Trobe University in Melbourne.

Throughout his career, Michael has gained extensive experience and expertise in elite sports settings. He has served as the lead physiotherapist for a Men’s football academy and Women’s first team, and has also worked within the AFL. Currently, he plays a pivotal role at British Athletics, where he works with Olympic-level track and field athletes. In addition to his clinical work, Michael leads the medical research and innovation department at British Athletics, focusing on advancing the field of sports medicine.

Michael is actively involved in academia as well. He lectures on muscle injuries and contributes his knowledge to the field through his role at Marylebone Health (CHHP), where he continues to push the boundaries of sports physiotherapy. His expertise extends internationally, consulting with NBA, NFL, and EPL teams on biomechanical analysis and tendon monitoring.
