Helpful staff and nice facilities

Had a 2pm appointment but had to wait an hour and was not seen until 3pm - really frustrated

This is my go-to gynecology clinic; have been there multiple times over the years. I've always found the doctors to be thorough, professional, and personable, and I highly recommend this practice.

The Portland Hospital gave me a first-class experience as a patient. My surgeon was exceptional, as was the anaesthetist. The care immediately pre- and post- op was the best possible. The nurses were wonderful: friendly, expert and highly attentive while also allowing some privacy as required. They could not have given me better care in any way. The hospital itself was a remarkably pleasant environment - my room and the whole ward was calm, well-designed and spotless. The food was very good indeed and the ambience was everything I had hoped for. I felt I was in the best possible place and my surgery there has had an excellent outcome.

HCA ancillary staff were excellent and friendly, putting me at ease. The one exception is that despite being fully covered by private medical insurance (incl pre-authorisation codes and competing multiple online forms and confirming details) the HCA administrative/ reception staff on arrival were overly focused on (and their primary priority is to) obtain credit card details and associated authorisation for extra procedures and tests which go beyond the scope of the referral and pre-authorisation in case suggested. The requested authorisation is open-ended and requested at a point when patients are vulnerable. The HCA admin staff were unable to explain why authorisation was required in my circumstances with full insurance coverage - all they could manage was a weak “it’s just our process”.

staff were also wonderful, providing excellent support and ensuring that my experience was as positive as possible. The entire team made me feel like I was in the best hands, and I am incredibly grateful for their kindness and professionalism.

Brilliant experience! So glad I did it as I was worrying whilst waiting for a NHS scan. Prompt, efficient, and friendly. Answered my questions and gave some much needed reassurance.
