Had revision ACL surgery with Mr Culpan. He was great at explaining the different options available pre-op and advantages / disadvantages of grafts. Always happy to answer queries and concerns. Knee is feeling good and stable and starting to return to some light sports 9 months post op.

Mr Hani Abdul-Jabar was very helpful, straight to the point and explained exactly what needed to be done. Would like to thank him for his kindness and help in repairing my ACL. He was also great at progressing me through the system to surgery by suggesting everything can be done at clementine making it much more convenient for me than going elsewhere for my scans etc.. before coming back. Overall great work from him and the surgery went very well and I would recommend him to others requiring ACL surgery.

My overall experience was excellent . The explanations of the procedure at the initial consultation were clear and easily understood. The procedure itself was a great success .I left the hospital after 48 hours with one crutch and no pain .I was walking without any support 2 days later . The 2 follow up meetings after 1 and 3 months were thorough and confirmed the success of the procedure .

Mr Saksena explained in full detail the nature of the problem with my hip and outlined the risks associated with having it replaced. I proceeded to have a total hip replacement. On the day of surgery Mr Saksena visited me before surgery took place and also after surgery. He has a very good bedside manner. I have now seen him again just over five weeks after surgery and had a very good post operative appointment.

I write this further to a double total hip replacement in March 2024, performed by Mr Giles Stafford. I am now four and a half months post-op. The experience, care and outcome could not have been better. As a former physiotherapist, I observed Mr Stafford's expertise and top quality throughout my treatement. A still practising physiotherapist friend recommended him, having observed consistently outstanding post-op results for Mr Stafford’s patients. That has certainly been my experience. Pre-op, I had gradually increasing pain and decreasing mobility over a number of years. By the time I went for a consultation, most days I struggled to limp more than five minutes, perhaps 100 metres. My world had narrowed to adapt to an inability to tolerate walking or being upright for more than very limited time periods. Following investigations of my hip and pelvis in different postures, Mr Stafford was immediately able to confidently identify the issue (severe degeneration of both hip joints) and lay out options for treatment, along with associated pros, cons and risks (impressively able to evidence this with precise data at his fingertips). I appreciated Mr Stafford’s candour and care to recommend that, for me, replacement of both hips at the same time may be a preferable option (despite the fact that two operations would be more lucrative and less intensive work for him personally). The care and protocols around the op were exceptional. Mr Stafford and his associates had the process and timings around the surgery down to a fine art. Every step is carefully considered and executed according to Mr Stafford’s considerable experience and evidence of what works best - pre and post x-rays and scans, pain control regime, ambulating with a Zimmer frame within hours of waking post-op, three physio sessions next day, advice for return home, exercise and work, follow up x-rays and consultations. Outcome? Post-op I could immediately feel that the locking and restriction around my hips and surrounding areas (pelvis and spine) was much reduced; this has continued to just get better and better. I have gradually but surely progressed with gaining mobility, strength and exercise tolerance, to be able to go the gym and pool three times a week (not done for years). It has taken hard work and discipline to move forward step-by-step. This has been promoted by the fact that post-op and since the pain has been never more than three or four out of ten. Last month I spent four days in Italy with family. On the trip I was able to walk around 10km a day over various surfaces, get on/off and squeeze into cramped tourist buses, climb up and down staircases, ride bikes, sleep in a different bed. Zero hip pain or discomfort (it was the feet and general fitness that had me tired by days’ end). From painful limping a maximum of 100m just a few months ago, this is transformational. I still have a way to go to lose more weight, get stronger and fitter still. Mr Stafford’s remarkable care has given me the opportunity to do that and live a happier, more fulfilling life. I will be eternally grateful. Obviously everyone’s condition and experience will be different: from mine, I would unreservedly recommend Mr Stafford as an outstanding hip surgeon. See him, take and follow his advice. I recommend this here as I would to those I care most about. Daniel

From my first consultation, right through to my review after the operation Mr Shah was brilliant. He was a professional, knowledgeable and put me at ease right away. My hip operation was very successful, Mr Shah did a very good job on me and after committing myself to my physio, I was very quickly mobile and pain free. All staff at Spire were amazing. I am very grateful for the care I received.
