I had two consultations with Dr Stephan Brincat at Shirley Oaks Hospital in July 2024 in respect of a significant decline in my day-to-day health due to the advancement of Stage 4 CKD (Chronic Kidney Disease). At the first consultation, Dr Brincat organised a series of tests and, because of the initial results, advised within hours I should seek emergency help for a potentially fatal heart condition, and recommended that I stop taking a medication he felt could be exacerbating the then rapid decline in the ability of my kidneys to function, with the consequential build-up of potentially deadly toxins in my body. I believe that Dr Brincat’s real-time assessment of what was going on in my body, and the resultant dangers, may well have saved my life; his prompt and expert intervention undeniably resulted in a remarkable improvement in my wellbeing over the next fortnight, an improvement which I continue to benefit from. As stated, I have met with Dr Brincat twice, and both times his professionalism and knowledge were impressive, and I was much touched by his care and concern for my well-being. Throughout a few difficult weeks my eldest daughter was in frequent contact with Dr Brincat’s office. Response was always friendly, prompt, informed and professional. In short, I was very fortunate to be seen by Dr Brincat, and I am extremely grateful for all he has done for me. Thank you.

My experience with Dr Malik was of the highest order. Being a fellow doctor we’re quite particular about who we choose to treat our ourselves. I can honestly say that I was very impressed with not only his technical skills in terms of his treatment but also in his clear explanations and personal manner when dealing with what was a very stressful time for myself and my family.
