I was admitted to AAU and initially faced some challenges with insurance approval, but the AAU nurse, EJ, was outstanding. He took the time to clearly explain what to say and how to ensure everything was covered, which made the whole process so much easier. James Tomlinson and his fellow were absolutely amazing—both were so kind, calm, and reassuring while being incredibly thorough in their examinations and tests. The overall staff communication on AAU was excellent; everyone introduced themselves, explained what they were doing, and always made sure I understood why. Even the porter who took me to my CT scan was so friendly and gentle. I was nervous and in pain, but they reassured me the entire way. The radiographer was exceptional as well—explaining the process in detail, preparing me for the contrast, and making sure I felt comfortable throughout. The fellow checked in with me regularly during the evening, giving me clear and consistent updates on my results, which I really appreciated. In the end, I was able to be discharged without admission, and all of my assessments and consultations were completed within just 3.5 hours—truly incredible efficiency combined with such compassionate care.

I went to my consultation with some trepedation as I didnt know what to expect but I was quickly put at ease once the consultation began. I was impressed with the detailed checks and scans that were carried out and everything was clearly explained at each stage. I was quiete surprised to be told that I wasnt ready for treatment at this stage and that any improvement that they could make for my reading vision, could potentially, make my distance vision slighly worse than it is at the moment. i was really impressed at the honestly and professionalism of the Consultant who gave me his honest opinion and did not try and sell me a procedure that I didnt need. For me this is very comendable in this day and age, Perhaps in a number of years time my situation will have changed and I will not hesitate to return to Cathedral for further advive/ analysys.

From start to finish my whole experience has been nothing short of excellent and then some. Nobody really wants a hefty operation but through the whole process at every consultation and on the day of surgery I have been thoroughly well informed and my mind always put at ease. I had a fibroscan which was really thorough and detailed. It was clear that the clinican was very highly trained and knowledgable. There are lots of places at the moment which primarily specialise in private baby scans but also offer health scans. I have previously been to one such place for for an abdominal scan and it was very basic - absolutely nothing like the attention to detail of the scan I had at Duality Healthcare. I wasn't expecting to be at the Spencer , So appointment time was not applicable. Most staff were helpful and polite. On being sent home I felt it was a a case of getting me out of the hospital due to it being a bank holiday weekend. I was sent home with a catheter but was not fully instructed on the use and the need to have a change for a night time catheter.

The assessor was lovely and encouraging. I do feel the format is unnecessarily stressful and the machines appear archaic. There is always a problem getting the heart rate monitor to link. The face mask tastes of public swimming pool and hinders breathing. On the other hand the data gained is invaluable.
