I was referred to Mr Knox and diagnosed with a fully ruptured distal biceps tendon. My experience with Mr Knox has been one hundred percent positive. Upon meeting, any anxiety I had regarding my injury was instantly dispelled by his self-effacing bedside manner and professionalism. He put himself out to see me at short notice for an evening initial consultation and didn't leave the hospital until he had given me all the time and explanation I needed to make an informed decision and even arranged my pre-op with a nurse which I had before leaving. My clinic letter was typed up and emailed out by Mr Knox late the same night. I was informed the next day my surgery would be the following morning; this having been driven by Mr Knox to ensure the best possible clinical outcome. Again upon meeting Mr Knox before going into theatre any nerves were quashed by his pro-active and cheery personality. Based on my experience I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Knox and I look forward to my follow-up consultation.

I contacted Ali whilst abroad having dislocated my radius and ruptured ligaments at the elbow. He was able to give me good advice about what I needed to ask for locally, and arranged for an MRI immediately upon my return. He was reassuring throughout the recovery period that the ligaments would rejoin, and realistic about the time that this would take. He reviewed it a couple of times to adapt the brace and ensure that the progress was as expected, and has been happy to spend time in explaining the medical side of the injury and how the recovery would work. Thankfully, everything mended as Ali predicted. Unusually for a consultant, but not for him, Ali has been approachable throughout on Whatsapp and has updated me on the status of the scans as he has had the results rather than waiting for an appointment. I am happy to recommend Ali as a consultant in a similar situation - very competent, communicative, approachable and friendly - a refreshingly different experience from the norm. Thanks Ali.

MR Asif Z Khan was absolutely the best I could ever imagine to have. Despite the fact that the hospital is busy and operating in very fast pace he provided the best possible care. Lovely consultant very caring and considerate put me at ease

MF takes time to explain the tech side of the procedure carried out. I have some continuing small problems with my operation that I may have to live with, and although it is an improvement on prior to the Op, MF is still keen to follow up some months later to ascertain if more can be done.

On the whole, a lovely consultant. The reason for the 4 stars was a very slight language barrier, and also explanation of surgery in recovery when still groggy from anaesthetic. Not his fault, just time restraints. Happy for him to perform surgery in the future, if needed?

Excellent rapport on risks and potential benefits of treatment and the time required for therapy and recuperation after faciectomy operation. A complex operation was undertaken and the potential for recurrence of the problem discussed and understood by the patient. I presented late with complex and widespread cords for Dupuytrens disease. I cannot be more pleased with the result, which has enabled a return to almost normal use of the hand and relieved discomfort in the joint areas. Dupuytrens disease is liable to return because of the nature of the disease and is not a reflection of the expertise of the surgeon but of the physiology of the particular patient. We were able to discuss options and timing of a return, should this be the case.
