Stroke

My mum stayed at Park House for 6 weeks, to get some of her independence back after a serious stroke. The experience my mum and our family had was second to none. When my mum came to the clinic, she couldn’t walk and was very weak. The treatment and care she received from the care and therapy teams was absolutely brilliant. My mum has left stronger and with the ability to walk with a stick. She will continue with community rehab at home. We will be forever grateful to all of the team at Park House. Thank you.

My sister has made amazing progress in the short time she has been with you. So much better than hospital. Staff are kind and friendly. Sometimes it is hard for us to communicate with staff. I sometimes have to wait a long time before my call is returned when I have a query. However the staff do an amazing job and have made her feel heard.

Loyd House

Lloyd house is a remarkable home all on levels. Their lead, management and day to day care is second to none. Residents here thrive in their environment and are so well looked after on an individual level, ans as a group. Every member of staff I encountered was passionate about care, professional, diligent in their role and above all had compassion and empathy for those they look after. My dad was at Lloyd house for many years and I went home after every visit knowing he was in the best place possible. I can’t recommend or rate Lloyd house and it’s staff, warm atmosphere, professionalism, expert knowledge and kindness highly enough.

Thornton Avenue

Verified profile

53 Thornton Avenue, London, United Kingdom, SW2 4BD

For someone that lives at Thornton Avenue the in my opinion the support service is very bad, to the point of put clients at severe risk. 5 member of staff “working“ during the Night Shift have been caught asleep, and although able to gain evidence, recordings of them“, Thornton manager and area manager, ignored the issue. This issue alone put myself, and five other clients at risk of that if they had a seizure during the night, they could go into status epilepticus and die. As well, there’s the fact that on the tenants agreement form, there is very little detailed as to what money will going to, so they are able use money that is refered to on the tenants agreement, around £17.00, as well as ask for money for “cleaning materials“ although living here you can see that the money provides much more than just cleaning materials. This therefore come under financial abuse. When you speak up to a member of staff, and try and speak your views, they act really rudely to you. However it is always blamed to be that you’re in the wrong concerning every subject. Staff alway ignore your e-Mails incase of risk of creating a bad paper trail, that could be seen as evidence for bad claims. The clients only got keys to the front this year, after a situation where, a client, myself, got locked out of the building at around 2:30 at night.

Home Visits

Liberty Court has had some changes recently which I feel may help improve some of the difficult areas. Daily Epilepsy care and supporting seizures daily I feel is good, I have concerns for continuity of care such as sharing information with medical professionals at consultations isn't supported well, follow up on GP request continuity of care can be overlooked and day to day general health may be affected as a consequence. Day to day running of household bills and supporting clients is poor these will often be overlooked resulting in payment arrears for the client. I feel that office duties/support should be an essential part of their support for clients who aren't able to do these things and a dedicated person who completes these roles solely would be a big help to the team. I know that my loved one feels more jolly and happy in recents months and I can hear a nice vibe when talking on the phone to my loved one. The block has recently had some improvements in the communal areas but the individual flat of my loved one is in need of updating. A hard Lamaze flooring was recently laid in the whole flat without consultation with the client and family, carpet wold have bene the preferred covering as this is more like a home and now the flat has a feel of an office the hard floor is unforgiving when a client has a fall and my loved one has already had some broken belongings in her flat due to dropping things accidentally on the floor. Suggested improvements to the flat have been completed and left for months and months.
