Everything about my stay at Papworth was excellent. Mr Còonar explained to me in detail what to expect in his calm manner, so I was well prepared for my surgery. The nurses were all caring and courteous, and I would like to give special mention to Libby, Kristina and young Becky. The whole ambience of Papworth was one of calm from the moment one set foot inside the Atrium. It seemed to me that no-one was in a hurry, that appointments ran on time, and everyone I met was pleasant and cheerful. In short, Papworth is unlike any other NHS hospital I have ever been to. It comfortably stands comparable to private hospitals, especially in terms of accommodation and in the friendliness of its staff. Perhaps this is because it has no A&E department, meaning that surgery and appointments run smoothly without having to be delayed by an emergency, enabling it to run like clockwork. Finally I would reserve special praise to Mr Coonar for his successful surgery on my lung. It has been my good fortune and pleasure to meet him. Thank you so much.

Comfortable , safe and soooo . reassuring . In my entire experience with this cancer and Dr Wilson’s care throughout covid and post Brexit not one single appointment was ever delayed or rescheduled. Despite the fear of cancer I have always felt confident and that I am in very safe hands . . I feel extremely lucky to have this tenacious and kind Doctor in my “life “. !!

I feel extremely well looked after and supported by Dr Steele and my experience has been very good indeed. Dr Steele is an extremely caring and thoughtful doctor and takes the time to explain complicated diagnoses clearly to me and my family.

Mr Billie is a genuine person who shows an amazing passion for his work and his patients wellbeing, from the moment I was introduced to Mr Billie I felt at ease. He takes time to listen to his patients and he fully explains all procedures in layman's terms which helps keep you at ease. Mr Billie visited me most days post operation, sometimes twice a day. His passion for his work shines through and is reassuring for any patient, this passion is clearly infectious to those that work with or alongside him and he is a true professional in all aspects. Dr Connibear is very easy to talk to and discuss the treatment protocol. He explained the procedure very well and clearly articulated the process together with any potential side effects there ensuring I was making an informed decision. He kept me up to date at all times. Dr Connibear secretary Trina is very efficient and makes the whole process easy to navigate .
