My experience with Mr Hussain has been exceptional .

So very kind and gentle when you are in pain it is so comforting to have such an understanding medical person treating you so well. No rush just given time to explain your needs and give you an answer and plan of treatment.

I wanted to discuss the possibility or desirability of a hip replacement, given that I have arthritis, and genuinely had no preference regarding whether to have the operation or not. He examined my mobility, discussed the situation with me, the pros and cons of operating or not, and concluded that I should continue with physiotherapy and not undergo the operation. Throughout the conversation, he came over as thoroughly professional, caring, and in command of his area of expertise. He gave me confidence in his decision.

The experience was excellent in every respect. I did think I/we had made a decision to proceed with a hip replacement, instead of other measures described, but now that I have read the Professor`s post-consultation letter, I am not sure a replacement is agreed. For the avoidance of doubt, I DO want to have a hip rplacement, please.

Referred via MSK. I did not want a surgical opinion but was persuaded as it was suggested that other options may be available. With reference to the consultation, dismissive of symptoms and inaccuracies with scan? Was reviewing a scan from 2018 not 2024. Felt patronised and humiliated by general attitude. Was not interested in symptoms or effects on daily life. Summary letter sent to myself and GP reflected the above. Interestingly letter had wrong address and I was referred to by the wrong name in the letter? As an NHS staff nurse I feel sorry that this kind of poor service exists.

I decided to see Mr Spink with my back problem after been told some 6 months prior that there was nothing that could be done apart from keeping my weight down. The pain was getting worse by the day and I had started to become incontenant, after explaining my symptoms and an examination he told me to pack a bag and go straight Hull Royal Imfirmary for emergency surgery. I cannot thank him enough it's early days yet it looks like my bladder and bowels have been saved he said I have cauda Equina Syndrome if left untreated the outlook is grim.
