All round an excellent experience

I was in for a total hip replacement.

Time to get an appointment and time to op was really quick. Consultant was great and the operating team were lovely. Nurses on the whole were excellent and friendly. Just a couple of minor things let them down. Paying private I would have expected a room to myself rather than a shared one but the woman I shared with was nice and friendly so no real problem. I was told not to pick up anything heavy in 24 hours after surgery and a couple of hours after surgery I asked a nursing assistant if she could please pour me a glass of water from the large nearly full jug, bearing in mind I was still dizzy and not feeling well after surgery and the drugs. She did so but gave me a really funny look and said “next time I could turn the jug round for you so you can pour it yourself”! Made me feel like I was being a right nuisance. The other thing that surprised me was I’d just had my gallbladder removed and all the literature says only to have fluids for 24 hours then nothing with fat, only gradually introducing things back into the diet and yet I was given a menu to order anything to eat e.g like leek, cheddar and potato pie. I queried this with the nurse and she said yes you can order what you like. I think the nurses need more training on appropriate food after specific surgeries. Finally, the one thing I really did not like was that visitors were only allowed 6-8pm. As I lived a long way from the hospital my husband, who drove me to the hospital for 7am, had spent all day in the waiting area, waiting to see me, he was not notified my surgery had gone well so didn’t hear until I was w...

The process from start to finish was superb, I have no negative comments to make

All staff were very pleasant. All surgery staff looked after me very well Tom Bendinger was very reassuring and put me a ease before my injection. Could not have gone better.

The clinic runs smoothly/ on time. Very friendly helpful and attentive staff. Which alleviates any stress worries one may have. And very professional caring staff

Excellent in all repects

Wonderful staff all of them, they couldn't have been more compassionate and caring.

Considering i am a private patient very Dissapointed. 1. I was contacted after making the initial appointment asking where i had my MRI scans. I gave the lady all details only to be contacted again the next day stating they could'nt locate them. I then gave them more comprehensive details and was assured if any issues i would be contacted. I attended the practice for the consultation on 27/11/25 only to be told by Mr. Bacon we could not proceed as he did not have my scans. I proceeded to to ask for the pre med tests during which an anneasatist was very rude to me because unfortunatly i have a needle phobea. 2. Prior to the operation i rang to ask that during the operation day is there somewhere for my partner[ ie. in the ward room etc] and informed yes. She was informed on arrival at 6.30am with me that she was not allowed on the ward until 6pm . We had travelled 80miles to the hospital that day. If we had been informed prior too alternatve arrangements could have been made for her.
