Dr Assunta Albanese specialises in the endocrine problems of children with cancer and the late effects of cancer treatment for children and young people. Her NHS bases are St George's Hospital where she is a Consultant in Paediatric Endocrinology and The Royal Marsden, where she runs the long-term endocrine service for oncological children. Dr Albanese is also a visiting Consultant, providing endocrine support for young haematology and oncology patients at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She also sees patients privately, including at The Harley Street Clinic.

Her clinical practice focuses on general endocrinology, with particular interest in growth and puberty disorders. Dr Albanese trained in Medicine at the University of Florence and was a Research Fellow at the Institute of Child Health and Great Ormond Street Hospital for three years and her postgraduate thesis was on constitutional delay of growth and puberty.
