About

Dr. Rob Agnew is an experienced clinical psychologist specialising in a wide range of disorders, with particular expertise in neurodifference, neurocognitive issues/neurorehabilitation, fatigue, functional disorders and OCD/BDD/phobias. As an LGBTQ+ affirmative practitioner, he is dedicated to providing inclusive and supportive care to all individuals. In addition to therapy, Dr. Agnew offers comprehensive assessment and diagnosis services.

In his role as Chair of the Section of Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity for the British Psychological Society (BPS), Dr. Agnew is deeply involved in advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and promoting understanding within the field of psychology. He also serves on the Practice Guidelines Review Board and the Mental Capacity Advisory Group, further contributing to the development of best practices in psychology.

With a wealth of experience, Dr. Agnew often works with patients who have previously undergone treatment without achieving full resolution of their issues. Drawing on a diverse range of therapeutic approaches, he collaborates with his patients to develop a tailored psychological understanding, or formulation, which is continuously refined and adjusted throughout the treatment process. He accepts clients who present with risk related to deliberate self harm and suicidality, and warmly invites clients who have issues that are difficult to speak about openly for fear of judgement or embarassment. Dr Agnew offers a friendly, open and informally-toned professional space in his sessions to explore and address complex issues.

Dr. Agnew completed his doctoral training in clinical psychology at University College London in 2008. Alongside his clinical work, he serves as a listed expert witness for the General Medical Council and has provided expert testimony in both civil and criminal court cases since 2012. His dedication to his patients and commitment to advancing psychological understanding make him a trusted and respected figure in the field of clinical psychology.

Dr Rob is the best psychologist I've ever worked with. He listens to my problems and offers genuine advice. He never belittles any issue I bring to him, no matter how small or irrelevant I think it is. He explains his method and the theory behind said method thoroughly in a way that is easily digestible. He is easy to get on with and is very personable. He is so openly accepting of people from all walks of life.
