Professor Ronak Rajani is a highly experienced Consultant Cardiologist with expertise in heart valve disease and advanced cardiac imaging. He practices at The Harley Street Clinic in London and is the cardiology lead for cardiac computed tomography at the Guy’s Valve Clinic. He also holds the position of Professor of Cardiovascular Imaging at King’s College London.
Professor Rajani has a particular interest in patients with heart failure, inherited cardiac conditions, those requiring structural heart interventions, and cardiac surgery. He assesses patients' overall cardiovascular risk and detects coronary disease. He is the Chairperson for Cardiac Imaging Stream across HCA Healthcare UK, London and serves as the NIHR speciality group lead for cardiovascular services across south London. He is also the representative for the Royal College of Physicians and the British Cardiovascular Society for South East London.
Professor Rajani received his medical training at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London and the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, including the British Cardiovascular Society/American College of Cardiology Fellowship in Advanced Cardiac Imaging. He is also the founder of the UK's first dedicated training courses for structural heart disease imaging and has accredited training in cardiac CT.
Professor Rajani has completed an echocardiography-based MD thesis and maintains an active interest in research applying cardiac CT in predicting cardiac risk. He has published over 230 manuscripts in the field of cardiac imaging and is the Principal Investigator on multiple trials. He has also contributed to several medical textbooks and sits on the International Sub-committee and Abstract Grading Committee of the Society of Cardiovascular CT. Professor Rajani is a Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, the European Society of Cardiology, the Royal College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, and the Royal College of Radiologists.
