Dr Sandeep Dahiya is a highly experienced consultant Rheumatologist
with over 20 years’ experience. He is dedicated to delivering a first-class
specialist service across the full spectrum of rheumatological conditions,
providing care in a professional, supportive and unrushed environment.
He completed his training in General Medicine at the Norfolk
and Norwich University Hospital, gaining Membership of the Royal College of
Physicians (MRCP) in 2000. He undertook specialist Rheumatology training at
three University hospitals — North Staffordshire, Norfolk and Norwich, and Addenbrookes
Cambridge. He achieved his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training
(CCST) in Rheumatology in 2005. He later completed an MSc in Health Science in
2009 at the University of East Anglia Norwich. Awarded Fellowship of the Royal
College of Physicians (FRCP) London in 2010.
He is actively involved in education and training at a
regional and national level. He has been a Member of MRCP Specialist Questions
Group (SQG) for 20 years and now Chairs medical sub speciality groups. He has served
as Training Program Director (TPD) for Rheumatology Specialist Training
Committee for the East of England. He has received five Clinical Excellence
Awards (CEAs) for his contributions to rheumatology services.
His clinical interests include general rheumatology and inflammatory
arthritis, such as rheumatoid, psoriatic arthritis. He treats Polymyalgia
rheumatica, osteoporosis, giant cell arteritis, connective tissue diseases such
as lupus and Sjogren’s. He offers specialist advice on diagnosis and management
of gout. Has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating chronic pain
syndromes such as fibromyalgia.
Dr Dahiya has held positions including Clinical lead for Rheumatolgoy and Clinical governance at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

Was review for CTD and Dr D was great gave me lots of lifestyle advice such as cardiovascular and mindfullness. Motivational apps. Was really engaging. Full examination and bloods.
I don't know where to begin. For nearly 30 years I've been affected by various issues from knees giving way, multiple joint pain, ear pain, fragile skin and much much more. My Mum was repeatedly told I was a nervous child, or it was growing pains and sometimes "there's nothing wrong". When I got older I was repeatedly told there was nothing wrong or "that's just the way you are" and was left struggling to manage multiple symptoms and feeling at a loss. The psychological impact was also significant. Being in some form of pain every day is horrible but when you're made to feel like it's all in your head or that you're just not like other people, it's cruel.... Finally I was sent to Dr Dahiya and I will forever count my blessings. Within 5 minutes he thought he knew what the issue was. After a very thorough discussion, medical history, how things affect me now and as a child and a physical he confirmed that although I didn't fully meet the criteria for EDS, I was correct, there was a reason for everyone. HDS - Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder. I felt heard, seen and finally helped. Dr Dahiya gave advice, directed me to reputable websites and offered to see me again for any questions because I was too taken aback to think at the time. It's not curable and it's still multiple issues but a huge weight has been lifted. I can get actual relevant advice and I have better resources to self manage and something behind me to push GP when I do need help. I honestly can't explain how much this has mentally helped me.
