Dr Sarah Flowers is a highly experienced addiction psychiatrist who has been practicing for over 18 years. After qualifying in 2003, she began her addiction psychiatry training the following year and has since worked in a variety of settings in London and Sussex. She has extensive experience in managing substance use disorders and addictions, as well as assessing co-existing mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Dr Flowers is known for her clinical expertise and deep understanding of recovery, which has led her to be elected as a director of Alcoholics Anonymous UK in April 2015, where she leads a program of addictions training across the South East. She also established the first mutual aid hospital steering group at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, and coordinated and chaired the Brighton Recovery Festival in 2016, which involved around 500 people.
Dr Flowers is a consultant addiction psychiatrist at Lifeworks, a leading mental health facility. Her role involves managing and treating substance use disorders and addictions, and providing support and care to individuals suffering from co-existing mental health disorders.
