Dr Faisal Shaikh is an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in Adult Neurodivergence, particularly Adult ADHD and ASD at Mentis Clinic. His approach to patient care is centred around the individual and encompasses both neurobiological and psychodynamic perspectives. He is multilingual, fluent in Arabic, Dutch, Sindhi, and Urdu, complementing his excellent English communication skills.
Dr Shaikh's journey in medicine began at Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan, where he graduated in 1999. He furthered his specialisation in Psychiatry through training in Hull and East Yorkshire, obtaining certification in General Adult and Rehabilitation Psychiatry from the Yorkshire Deanery in 2007. Alongside his medical qualifications, he holds Masters of Science degrees in Population Health and Medical Leadership. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych) in 2015.
Having practiced as a Consultant Adult Psychiatrist in Dudley, West Midlands, from 2007 to 2019, Dr Shaikh now calls the Hull and East Yorkshire region home, bringing his wealth of experience to benefit the local community.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr Shaikh is deeply committed to addressing loneliness, actively involved in the start-up 'MyBabble'. He also holds certification as an Executive Coach and Mentor at ILM-7 level.
