I chose Dr Shields because he works as a psychiatrist in the field of cancer. I consulted him because my cancer treatment had helped make me very anxious and depressed. At the initial consultation Dr Shields was warm, attentive and reassuringly knowledgeable about both my cancer treatment and what could be done to alleviate my psychological symptoms. His treatment worked magnificently and the followup fine-tuned the treatment. It has been a great relief to have someone ‘on the team’ who sees me as a whole person and not just a body with cancer.

He gives his patients so much hope in themselves and treats us all like humans with dignity and respect no matter what we are going through. Dr Shields is a patient and sensitive proffesional who listens very carefully. His manner is light yet his attention to detail is deeply attentive. He is available and present as a caring doctor and has helped practically creating short term and long term plans to help me medically. He is able to make nuanced decisions in a non judgmental atmosphere that overall instills confidence and independence. I cannot thank him enough...
