Dr Raza has been a C onsultant in Infectious diseases and Microbiology at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since September 2008. His role involves undertaking both clinical and laboratory work, and he is an expert in microbiology, infectious diseases and tropical diseases, and has developed these specialities in Milton Keynes over the last 12 years. Dr Mansoor Raza qualified in Calcutta in 1993 and subsequently got his MD in tropical medicine before starting his training in the United Kingdom, which he completed with higher specialist training in both infectious diseases and microbiology in Bristol. His dual training affords a unique perspective on the various aspects of infection.
His clinical interests include tropical diseases, infections in returning travellers, chronic infections including tuberculosis, HIV. viral hepatitis and Lyme disease, complex infections including bone and joint and device related infections.
He has a special interest in teaching and examinations and continues to teach at the University of Buckingham Medical School and is involved with various Royal College examinations.
