About Mr Andy Chin
Mr Andy Chin is a full-time ENT Consultant Surgeon based in NHS Lanarkshire with a wealth of experience and a passion for service improvement and education. His specialist interests include hearing loss, ear operations using open, endoscopic, and laser techniques, balance disorders, tinnitus, and general paediatric and adult ENT conditions. Mr Chin has played a pivotal role in enhancing NHS services in Lanarkshire, having established new balance and hearing loss clinics that have significantly improved patient care.
Educated at the National University of Ireland, Cork, where he graduated with honours in 1999, Mr Chin has made Glasgow his home for the past 25 years. He completed his ENT training within the West of Scotland rotation and was appointed as a Consultant ENT Surgeon in 2013. Beyond his clinical role, he is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Glasgow University and a surgical educator for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
Mr Chin is deeply involved in academic teaching, delivering ear surgery courses at Glasgow University and training audiology students at Glasgow Caledonian University, in addition to his participation in general practice education seminars. He currently serves as the Clinical Lead for ENT in NHS Lanarkshire and Clinical Lead for the ENT Specialty Delivery Group, NHS Scotland. He is also the Clinical Lead for balance services and tinnitus clinics.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for our daughter’s operation. Mr Andy Chin was incredibly caring and reassuring with our young daughter, and kept us fully informed and supported throughout as parents. Everything went smoothly and we felt she received excellent care from start to finish. We are extremely grateful and would highly recommend.
Mr Chin was amazing with my 10 year old son. He spoke directly to him rather than me. He spoke to him in a child friendly manner using language that my son understood. He explained this very well to my son and made him feel at ease immediately on entering the consultation room.
Andy Chin was extremely friendly and immediately put both us and our little one at ease. Our child warmed to him straight away, which made the experience much more comfortable. Andy was also very thorough in explaining the process and procedure, clearly setting expectations from the outset. His approach was reassuring, informative, and highly professional.
My daughter received excellent care from Mr Chin, her operation and aftercare could not have been better.
Calm, informative, supportive consultation and treatment
My son had issues with allergic rhinitis and enlarged adenoids which are now completely resolved. The surgical procedure was quick and recovery was easy for my son. Andy was excellent with Alex, such a lovely manner and put him at ease through out the whole experience. Highly recommend!
