Dear Mr Mohan, Thank you for performing the joint replacement on my left middle finger. Prior to the surgery, I was experiencing severe pain and discomfort from the middle finger as I am left-handed this was causing me problems in gripping and holding objects and writing. due to my having an airways alert issued after a previous general anaesthetic, I elected to have the procedure under a local anaesthetic of the left hand and this enables you to have me flex the finger joints when requested, during the operation which I understand contributed to end result. the local anaesthetic worked very well and I did not feel any discomfort or anxiety during the procedure. I would wholeheartedly recommend this to any other person awaiting finger joint replacement. being fully awake also enables me to better understand what you and your team were undertaking and how each one of you had a specific role in the procedure. it was very helpful to be told what was happening and to show me both the remnants of the old joint and the new replacement in position. please feel free to show this review to any other patient awaiting the operation and your team at North Downs hospital and your other hospital locations. The joint is now pain-free and I have almost complete flexibility of the finger and the outcome for me is very satisfactory.

I was fortunate to get a cancellation appointment so that you were able to operate on me. You prepared me so well and explained how things went during the operation. Please extend my sincerest thanks and eternal gratitude to Mr Mohan, his surgical team and all within the Orthopaedic Department and Hand clinic at Croydon University Hospital, who through their skills and expertise and kind attention have succeeded in restoring full functionality to my hands after surgery to release Dupuytren's Contracture, which had so catastrophically debilitated my capability to perform as a Badminton coach and racquet stringer, indeed in almost all aspects of day to day living. Please extend my particular heartfelt thanks to Mr Mohan's secretary ( no doubt one of the very un-sung heroes within your organisation) who, when no appointment was available to have my plaster and stitches removed within the specified time due to the sheer volume of patients, was able to offer me alternative solutions over the telephone. Being so encumbered( unnecessarily) during a period where the highest ever recorded temperatures were experiences in the UK, proved to be one of the most unpleasant experiences I have encountered She indeed, saved my sanity. Just a short letter to say thanks to the Orthopaedic and hand Therapy departments for their attention and good care provided to me in regards to my left hand.
