Mr. Joel Humphrey is an experienced consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon with a particular interest in the foot and ankle. He holds a bachelor's degree in orthopaedic sciences from University College London and completed his medical training at St. Bartholomew's Hospital and the Royal London School of Medicine. He has also worked extensively in London during his specialist registrar training in trauma and orthopaedics at Guy's, Kings, and St. Thomas' Hospitals.
Prior to taking up his consultant post, Mr. Humphrey undertook two fellowships, the first in foot and ankle reconstruction at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, followed by a trauma fellowship at the John Radcliffe Hospital, where he gained considerable expertise managing complex foot and ankle trauma cases using the latest surgical techniques available.
Mr. Humphrey is also involved in research and has published multiple peer-reviewed articles as well as book chapters. His work has been presented both nationally and internationally, winning several research awards.
Additionally, he has a wealth of experience in sports and exercise medicine and led the research on real tennis injuries for the Tennis & Rackets Association.

Mr Humphrey provided a very clear explanation of the toe fusion surgery and this manner of delivery eleviated all concerns I had regarding the procedure. The surgery and all post surgical care has been excellent throughout.

Did a great job on my haglunds deformity(heel spur) as well as cleaning and clearing inflammation on my Achilles with speedbridge surgery. Extremely clear, communicative from start to finish in explaining the procedure and aftercare at all consultations. Very easy to interactive with.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Joel Humphrey for bunion surgery. The service I received was excellent. He was professional, well informed and I felt very safe in his care. He explained everything to me, gave me good advice, all in layman’s terms.

My experience with Mr Humphrey was very positive . He is very professional and reassuring.He went to great lengths to clarify treatment options. In my opinion the treatment , surgery and aftercare were if a very high standard . I am very happy with outcome of my foot surgery .

From the get go Mr Humphrey made everything very clear and simple which put me at ease immediately. All risks were discussed fully and every stage of the process explained. The surgery I had was excellent and the recovery was exactly as I was told it would be. The whole experience was very good, so much so he is going to operate on my other foot.

Right from the first appointment we had a clear plan and an understanding of the benefits but also the risks. However, the considered open approach left me with no doubt the plan was right. The outcome is as I hoped and we discussed.

If surgery is required, then he has a good and safe pair of hands in which you can trust.
