Explanation

I was referred to Mr Sam Singh following years of walking around with a damaged ankle caused by juvenile rheumatoid arthritis when I was 5 (I am now 63). I was on constant strong painkillers and periodic steroid injections into the ankle. I have now been back at work almost 6 weeks and I can honestly say that the operation has changed my life! I am now pain free and my walking and stamina is improving weekly. Now that I can walk without pain I realise what a strain it had been before and how miserable it was making me. It’s surprising what you put up with when you think you have no choice. I now walk from Cannon Street station to Broadgate (0.8 mile) every morning and it takes me 20 minutes (unthinkable before the operation). There were times after the operation and during the recovery when I wondered if it had been worth it but that is all forgotten now. I am lucky to have found you and I am so grateful to you.

I can't thank Sam enough for mending my tendon. He has been great with advice, and working with me to avoid surgery (for a few years). When surgery eventually became the best course of action, Sam has really helped me through the recovery process, and always provide help and advice in an easy to understand way. On operation day, Sam was really good, looking in before the operation to ease any concern I had, and popping in afterwards to check I was OK, and explain in detail, what he had done. I hope I don't have to see Sam again anytime soon for another injury, but if I do get injured, I will be visiting him

I am 67 and 12 months ago had an ankle fusion op at The London Bridge Hospital under Sam's care. From the initial consultation to being discharged I can not fault Sam's attention to detail and total professionalism. I was under his care for perhaps 2 years, following alternative treatments, before he suggested I had this operation. He explained the procedure in the fullest detail and the recovery process to put my mind at ease. On the day of the op he rang to suggest I did not come to the London Bridge until later in the day, as my op would be later on - a small example of his thoughtful and caring approach. After the op he rang my wife at 9.30pm, to tell her everything was fine. On follow-up consultations he changed my plaster himself. The operation has been a complete success and I am walking better than I did 15 years ago. Paul Davy

Explanation

Sam conducted a Brostrom reconstruction on my right ankle in January 2015 due to damaged ankle ligaments and cartilage problems. I am a keen golfer and was unable to play for six months leading up to the operation and Sam put my mind at rest assuring me it was my best option of getting back playing and saying it was a simple operation that he had done many times. I can’t speak highly enough of the treatment I received throughout the whole procedure from my first meeting with Sam through to the day I had my final check up with him. I was back playing golf in June 2015 and can’t thank Sam enough for getting me back on the golf course. Having any operation is quite nerve racking for most people but the excellent way this was handled by Sam and everyone at London Bridge hospital made the whole experience worthwhile and feel relaxing and built up my hopes. I have no hesitation in providing this feedback and would recommend Sam to anyone I know.

I suffered with severe pain in my left foot for a number of years and as a keen runner and heel wearer found it very uncomfortable. The pains became so uncomfortable that could no longer wear bare feet or flip flops and had to strap my feet when running to avoid the pain. I had seen private podiatrists and NHS specialists, none of whom identified the pain correctly. I saw Sam who very quickly identified the problem and suggested surgery on my foot to remove a Morton's Neuroma. I had the operation in November 2015 and in January 2016 I ran my quickest 10k race - so was so happy with the result and my recovery has been fantastic. Sam was fantastic, before, during and after my surgery - I am a big fan!

I was suffering from debilitating achilles heel pain for over a year and had three consultants / physiotherapists all given up hope helping my condition. In my first visit to Dr Singh, he correctly diagnosed my problem, haglund's deformity, and performed the operation a month later. Before and after the surgery, he was available to answer all my questions & concerns and made sure my recovery was all going according to plan. In the years since the operation, I've gone on to compete muay thai in the professional division and run several marathons (and hopefully many more to come), all with a healthy achilles heel. I am truly grateful to Dr Singh for helping me and changing my life around!
