Really thorough and helpul, and found an answer to my daughter's gastro symptoms that others had missed and overcomplicated.

Hi I’m very happy to hear that. Thank you very much for the positive feedback. It is always welcome to hear that we may have made a difference. Best wishes Prof Mike
Professor Thomson took a methodically approach when treating our son, we did not know what the issue was however, the approach taken led to a diagnosis and successful treatment. He provided direct responses to all the questions and the administration team behind him are also excellent! We would no doubt recommend Professor Thomson, he is extremely knowledgeable and although a man of few words , he listens and articulates his views concisely and provided us with the necessary information as we needed. We can’t thank him enough!

Thanks so much! I learnt over many years of paediatric practice that listening (to children AND parents) is the key - along with focussed questioning! I really appreciate your constructive and positive comments. Thank you Prof Mike
He has transformed my daughters life, she was struggling with severe constipation we had been in and out of hospital on the NHS, within the last 6 months she is a different child with the help of him and advice on medication. She was also still in nappies and we no longer have a nappy in sight!!

Fantastic news! Thanks for your great feedback. So pleased we have made so much progress together over a relatively short time. Best wishes Prof Mike
We’re so grateful to Professor Thomson for the care our son received. We’d been struggling for two years with NHS care, and had even seen another doctor privately, but nothing seemed to help with our 3-year-old’s abdominal pain and constipation, which was causing him real distress and affecting his everyday life. Professor Thomson kindly fitted us in at short notice and arranged an abdominal X-ray straight away — the first test our son had in all that time. Within just four weeks of starting the right treatment, we saw a huge improvement. Thanks to Professor Thomson’s knowledge and care, we now have the right plan in place and the appropriate referral to fully resolve things. Professor Thomson was kind, compassionate and truly listened. We were apprehensive to see another doctor but he made us feel at ease immediately. We can’t thank him enough and would absolutely recommend him to other families, without hesitation.

That is lovely to hear. I’m so happy that I was able to help in a constructive way way. Very best wishes Prof Mike
Professor Thomson is a wonderful man he has done more for my son in one visit than what any other Dr/consultant has done in years he’s a godsend to his profession and genuinely cares about the children he treats. Also his office staff Kate and Stacy are marvellous and have helped immensely i wish Prof and his team could be cloned and placed in every hospital in the country.

Wow. That is an amazingly lovely review. So glad we could help and I agree my PA team are stupendous. Thank you!
We were referred to Mr Thomson last year and our son was treated at the Portland Hospital. During what was an anxious and worrying time for us, he provided a prompt diagnosis and a clear treatment plan. He was consistently kind, professional, and reassuring to both us and our son throughout. Easy to contact when we needed extra advice after discharge. He has also continued to offer valuable support beyond our son’s immediate physical needs, particularly during what has been a challenging military application process. The entire team, including his PA and the wider medical staff, have been supportive, approachable, and easy to contact, always responding quickly to any queries.

I remember him very well and thanks for your great review. I hope things go well with the application. Best wishes Prof Mike
We found Professor Thomson to be very professional, experienced and responsible. After going from Dr to Dr, Prof Thomson took my daughters symptoms seriously and investigated them thoroughly. His team are very responsive and supportive with any questions, results and concerns. Thank you!

That is marvellous to hear. Thank you and so glad we could help. Prof Mike
Professor Mike has truly been a lifesaver for my son. Since meeting him, he has helped my son more than any other doctor ever has. He and his team have been absolutely amazing. I have seen many private doctors and NHS doctors, but none have achieved what Professor Mike did in just the first appointment. My son is now sleeping through the night, and for the first time, he is on a proper path—being seen, checked, referred, and given the care and medication he has needed since birth. For years, everything was dismissed and simply labelled as “due to autism.” But Professor Mike listened to us. He carried out thorough checks, arranged scans and referrals, and has consistently followed up. Because of him, we are finally able to give our son a better life—with less pain, fewer tantrums, and real progress. His team is also incredible—always quick to respond to emails and calls, and consistently helpful and supportive. We went through an extremely difficult few months in December, January, and February, with severe tantrums, stomach pains, headaches, and self-harming. Since seeing Professor Mike, the difference has been huge. I honestly can’t thank him and his team enough. I am so grateful, and I truly hope we can continue under his care as my autistic, non-verbal son continues to progress in all aspects of his life. Cristiano can’t thank you enough

I’m so happy. Making a difference like this is what motivates me. It’s truly heart-warming to hear the good news about him. Thanks very very much for letting us know. And I agree l, my PAs really are a fab team. They believe in what we are doing as well. Thanks again. Prof Mike
Professor Thomson is caring of his patients well-being and listens to their concerns, as well as takes into account their daily lives when looking at test results, no one person is the same
