Dr Lawrence Lear is a well experienced Family Medicine Specialist UPANDRUNNING DIFC with over 28 years of experience. Prior to joining UPANDRUNNING in 2018, Dr Lear practiced in a very busy practice with 14,000 patients in the UK. He completed his medical degree at the University of London, UK in 1986. Fuelled by his interest in sports medicine, he completed his Master’s degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine at the University of Bath, UK in 2011. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2016. Dr Lear also contributed to the Sports Medicine Polyclinic during the London 2012 Olympics, where he had the privilege of working with athletes from around the world.

Dr Lear has particular interests in understanding the physical, physiological, and psychological consequences of these challenging and traumatic times. He is recognised by his colleagues and patients for his compassionate nature and dedication to patient wellbeing which ensures that he remains attuned to the needs and challenges faced by his patients.

Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Lear has research interests in adolescent rugby injuries, having closely collaborated with the English RFU (Rugby Football Union) and providing care to and studying two prominent rugby-playing public schools for an extended period. His expertise has been recognised in tackling the diagnostic challenges of sports and musculoskeletal medicine.
