Professor Kevin Cooper has been working as a Consultant Gynaecologist since 1998, and he currently works at the Albyn Hospital Aberdeen. He covers a wide range of gynaecological issues, however his main areas of interest include endometriosis, incontinence and menstrual problems.

He qualified from Medicine in 1986 from the University of Edinburgh. His MD thesis was based on the management of menstrual disorders and he maintains a prominent research profile. He has also completed an MSc in Health Services Research at Aberdeen University.

Prof Cooper is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy and the British Society of Urogynaecology.

He specialises in minimal access surgery (keyhole) and set up the first registered endometriosis centre in Scotland. He is also a uro-gynaecologist and undertakes investigations and management, both conservative and surgical for vaginal prolapse and urinary incontinence (leakage). Medical and minimal access surgical treatment of heavy periods and fibroids is another area of expertise
